Arrival visit at Quantum
This month, we had the privlige to host & hear a very interesting lecture from Denis Sverdlov, Founder and CEO of Arrival.
In the lecture, Dennis drill down to the company’s new approach regarding the automotive world design and assembly of electric vehicles methods.
Dennis talked about the company highly automated “microfactories” where its delivery vans and buses will be assembled by multitasking robots, and also about replacing most steel parts used in vehicles with components made from advanced composites, a mix of polypropylene, a polymer used to make plastics, and fiberglass. These parts are to be held together by structural adhesives instead of metal welds.

Quantum Hub PoC Use-Case
The Situation
Today a new car can wait in the importer storage facility between 1 day to 12 months before it is sold. In that time period, there is a need to preserve the 12V battery level of charge.
What we did
We tested the solar charger function under different sun load conditions (fully sunny/partly sunny) on flooded battery and on AGM battery as well, monitoring the positive current delivered from the charger to the battery over long time period
Results
The solar charger was able to charge both types of batteries with average of 1.8 amperes under full sun and 0.5 amperes under full shade. these currents are more than enough to maintain a good battery state of charge in new vehicles in storage
Apollo power
Apollo develops and manufactures photovoltaic (PV) technology. The company's flexible, ultra-light solar cells reach 16.85% efficiency. Apollo's patented PV technology is suitable for a wide range of energy production applications in different areas and industries. The Apollo Solar Roll is a highly durable, lightweight, cost-effective PV module designed to solve different energy challenges, either floating on bodies of water or on installed structures with load-bearing limitations.
