HARMAN and ProteanTecs Collaborate to Advance Predictive and Preventive Maintenance for Automotive Electronics
ProteanTecs, a global leader of deep data analytics for advanced electronics, and HARMAN, an automotive technology company and subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. focused on designing consumer experiences at automotive grade, have collaborated to advance a new approach to predictive and preventive maintenance of vehicle electronics.
The HARMAN and proteanTecs solution combines over-the-air (OTA) technology, deep data analytics and advanced device health monitoring to notify, predict and prevent malfunctions in the entire fleet. The details and use cases of this integrated solution are available in a new white paper, detailing the companies’ joint cloud and onboard applications.
Wiz becomes the world’s largest cybersecurity unicorn
Wiz, a cybersecurity startup based in the U.S. and Israel, said Monday that it has raised $300 million in fresh capital at a valuation of $10 billion. It won’t move any of that money to Israel, however, amid ongoing unrest about proposed reforms to the country’s judicial system.
The Series D funding was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and existing investors Greenoaks Capital Partners and Index Ventures.
Wiz has now raised a total of $900 million from investors including Sequoia Capital and Salesforce Ventures just three years after it was founded.
Wiz was founded in March 2020 by CEO Assaf Rappaport, CTO Ami Luttwak, Vice President of Product Yinon Costica, and Vice President of R&D Roy Reznik. The team had previously worked together at Microsoft’s cloud security group and co-founded Adallom, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2015 for $320 million.

Arrival visit at Quantum
This month, we had the great honor of hosting Denis Sverdlov, the Founder and Chairman of Arrival - a British electric vehicle manufacturer primarily for lightweight commercial vehicles.
As part of his visit, we held pitch sessions for Israeli startups, visited Apollo Power's new factory, and toured Taavura HQ and UPS' facility to seek for collaboration opportunities.
Quantum SPARK next batch is coming
The registration for the 6th batch of our Quantum SPARK PoC Runway program has been opened!
SPARK is Quantum's flagship 13-week PoC runway program, focused on Automotive, Industry 4.0, Energy, and Logistics solutions for our partners - Taavura Livnat Group, VDL Groep, Talcar (Kia Israel), Hyundai, and Bazan.
By the end of March, we will share with you one-pagers of the relevant startups after initial screening by Quantum. After receiving your feedback, startups that have a potential use case with our partners will be invited to our screening committee which will take place at the end of April.
The most suitable startups will be accepted into the program and will be presented at the Opening Event at the end of May.
VDL visit at Quantum
This month we had the pleasure of hosting our partners from the Netherlands, the VDL Group management team. This visit was a significant opportunity to meet face-to-face with Israeli startups and explore existing and new opportunities in the Israeli ecosystem. In addition, we had the honor to meet the VDL NedCar team and learn more about their manufacturing lines and interests.
Quantum at OurCrowd Global Investor Summit
This month Quantum & q fund team participated at the OurCrowd summit at Jerusalem.
The Summit has become one of the largest and most important tech events and the largest investor event in the Middle East. More then 9000 participants, 1096 Multinational Corporate Representatives and 111 delegations came from 83 countries, including the Gulf States and North Africa.
President Isaac Herzog opened the summit and said: “ It is especially exciting to welcome our brothers and sisters from the Abraham Accord countries, with whom a joint conference of this nature would have been pure fantasy only a few short years ago. It is an inspiring reminder of what can become possible with goodwill, openness, and an intention to harness our collective creativity toward finding solutions that benefit us all”.

Quantum Hub PoC Use-Case
The Situation
When looking on EV energy usage, the A/C which is used for cabinet atmosphere control is the
second highest energy consumer after the electric motor.
What we did
The tests includes 60 temp sensors (in the vehicles), 2 humidity and radiation sensors and 8 vehicles to check for Solcold material advantage.
each scenario will include 4 days of testing by comparing between 2 identical vehicles with BMC data collection such as: Bat and BMV SOC and SOH, Bat volt and current
Expected Results
Data collection that assist in evaluating the performance envelop of SolCold material:
Understand the material properties compared to coating automotive-grade standards,
Successfully show case energy saving in a real use case test
Solcold
SolCold developed a patented nano-technological coating that cools everything under the sun. The material uses the sunlight and the sky for cooling and is most effective when it is very hot and the sun is strongest.
